Bo Laurent (formerly Cheryl Chase) founded the
Intersex Society of North America. Her ongoing efforts to improve the social and medical treatment of intersexed people have been recognized with the Felipa de Souza Human Rights Award, and in diverse publications and numerous television and radio programs including Newsweek, The New York Times, NPR, Dateline NBC, Alice Dreger’s Intersex in the Age of Ethics, Suzanne Kessler’s Lessons from the Intersexed, Anne Fausto-Sterling’s Sexing the Body, and Natalie Angier’s Woman: An Intimate Geography.

Bo lives and works in Sonoma County, California and is an avid cyclist.
