KAREN WALSH

Ranson, WV, U.S.

Karen has complete androgen insensitivity syndrome, something her doctors and parents concealed from her “for her own good”. Discovering the truth at age 32, she found freedom and relief, as well as other individuals with differences of sex development.

Karen speaks publicly about the need for change in the standard of care for individuals with differences of sex developments. Her focus is on ending the confusion over true medicine and empty prejudice. Teaching that No Body Is Shameful® she advocates for a new approach based on compassion, facts, and self-determination.

Karen is a member of the Board of Directors for InterACT. Raised in New Jersey, she lives and works in the Washington D.C. area. She is an avid hiker and snowshoeing enthusiast.
